Topic: Proposed Schedule using the 8 x 2

We have brought back the idea of the 8x2. The rationale is as follows:

  1. This will allow for students to take Math and English plus the intervention in Math and English in the 9th grade (mandatory) and in the 10th and 11th as needed.
  2. The 8x2 allows us to use the make the Advisory class less complicated
  3. Every teacher receives 6 classes to teach, but a conference per day
  4. More classes offered to students.

Highlights plus issues/potential conflicts:

  1. Science is taken out of 9th grade and becomes a mandatory class for 10-12th grades
  2. Do we have enough teachers to teach the multiple electives?
  3. Will extra classes—which requires more teachers—drain funding?
  4. Can we come up with a concrete list of the electives we will be offering?
